EZQUANT KITS

The precise and sensitive quantification of double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) has wide applications. The main disadvantages of the traditional absorbance-based method for DNA quantification include (1) lower sensitivity, (2) inability to distinguish between DNA and RNA, (3) interference due to contaminants commonly found in nucleic acid preparations, and ( 4) relatively large contribution of nucleotides and single-stranded nucleic acid to the signal.

BioVision’s dsDNA Quantitation Kit is sensitive, non-radioactive, and can specifically detect dsDNA in the presence of free ssDNA, RNA, and nucleotides.

The assay is based on the dsDNA-binding fluorescent dye that specifically binds to dsDNA to generate fluorescence (Ex / Em = 480/530 nm), allowing sensitive quantitation of small amounts of dsDNA (as low as 40 pg). This highly sensitive assay is ready as supplied for the 96-well plate format and can be adapted to a 384-well plate.

The EZQuant Cytotoxicity Assay Kit is used to assess cell death. It measures the level of LDH released when cells are stressed or damaged by chemicals that are toxic to cells. The reagent is reduced by NADH that was oxidized by extracellular LDH. Therefore, the amount of formazan produced is directly proportional to the number of dead cells.

The EZQuant Cell Quantitation Kit conveniently determines the number of viable cells in cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. This product is useful for drug detection and chemical cytotoxicity testing. Meanwhile, the EZQuant ™ Cytotoxicity Assay Kit determines the number of damaged cells and the degree of cytotoxicity. The combination of these two products will allow researchers to fully understand cellular health conditions in various cytotoxic settings.
